Dear Family and Friends,
Our favourite memories of Christmas are the sparkling lights, hot cocoa, favourite recipes, and festive clothes. It is a special time to gather with family and friends. However, the holiday season can be trying for some seniors who are experiencing difficulties in their everyday lives. Many elderly persons and their family members find it difficult to deal with age-related challenges that affect seniors. This scenario is becoming more common in our society as aging baby boomers become the fastest growing population in Canada. The Calgary Chapter Alberta Association on Gerontology CCAAG helps families make sense of this new reality. Our organization consists of a network of people in the field of gerontology including gerontologists, geriatricians, nurses, social workers, academics, government representatives, and seniors, who together share their knowledge and skills to improve the lives of the elderly.
Please consider sharing your love and generosity for the elderly this Christmas.
Your contribution helps CCAAG provide:
- A portion of the proceeds raised to senior agencies in the Calgary community
- Public education and discussion on gerontology issues
- Scholarships for research that promote quality of life and healthy aging
- An awards program to recognize seniors with special skills and talents
We hope you cherish your time with your family this Christmas.
